The Skippers - Family Hesperiidae
The Skippers that are found in Quebec are generally on the small side. We don't have many brightly coloured species - they tend to be gray to orange/brown in colour. The family name refers to the bouncy, "skipping" pattern of their flight. Many think of these butterflies as "moth-like", but they are more closely related to true butterflies than they are to moths.
