Member of Family: Lycaenidae

French common name: Bleu verdâtre

This is a common species in Northern Quebec. There are some old records from South Western Quebec, but it seems to have retreated Northward more recently. There is considerable variability in the colour of the female upperside, with some individuals looking more pale/faded than the one at upper left, or more brownish, and with more or less orange in the tail area. On the underside, some individuals have even smaller dark spots than the male shown at lower right, and some females with larger spots than the one shown at lower left.
