Silver-Bordered Fritillary (Boloria selene)

Member of Family: Nymphalidae

French common name: Boloria à taches argentées

Note: Some taxonomists believe that this butterfly is a separate species from the selene which flies in Eurasia, where it is known as the Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary. Boloria myrina has been proposed as the scientific name for our Silver Bordered Fritillary. This is the designation currently used in eButterfly. This new taxonomy has not been universally accepted.
