Short-tailed Swallowtail (Papilio brevicauda)

Short-tailed Swallowtail ( Papilio brevicauda )

Gaspesie National Park, QC 2013/08/01

Member of Family: Papilionidae

French common name: Papillon queue-courte

This species is endemic to Eastern Canada. In Quebec, it is found along the South and North Shores of the St. Lawrence, as well as the Gaspe Peninsula. The photo shown above is the only one I have so far. Unfortunately, this individual was in poor condition, and the tails are missing.
